ABOUT COALITION
The Northern Ghana Coalition of Civil Society Organizations for Peace, Security and Development is a coalition of CSOs and NGOs as well as individual professionals promoting peace, security and development in Northern Ghana. The Coalition provides the platform to consolidate the efforts of CSOs, leverage on each other’s strengths, and provide a consolidated and united front. We also serve as a community of practice for Peace, Security and Development in Northern Ghana.
We aim at strengthening civil society organizations in Northern Ghana so that they can actively contribute to peacebuilding and the prevention of violent extremism in Northern Ghana through;
Improving member organizations' knowledge and skills in conflict prevention, conflict analysis, and peacebuilding.
Contributing to changing public perceptions and attitudes regarding reconciliation.
Consolidating inter-cultural dialogue activities and initiatives by ensuring synergy and complementarity amongst them.
Providing capacity-building support in order to strengthen organizational and national capacities for peacebuilding.
Interfacing between security agencies and CSOs.
Supporting with the formation and mentorship of community peace and security committees.
COORDINATING AGENCIES
The Northern Ghana Coalition of CSOs for Peace and Security is convened and coordinated by Savana Signatures, the Center for Conflict Transformation and Peace Studies (CECOTAPS) and COGINTA.
