COORDINATING AGENCIES

The Northern Ghana Coalition of CSOs for Peace and Security is convened and coordinated by Savana Signatures, the Center for Conflict Transformation and Peace Studies (CECOTAPS) and COGINTA.

Savana Signatures has a vision of a society where all have access to tools that improve their livelihoods and quality of life and a mission of initiating positive change among youth, women, and vulnerable populations of Ghana using innovative solutions to facilitate access to health, inclusive quality education, and livelihood and economic empowerment. Savana Signatures believes that it is only when there is peace that we can achieve our vision.

The Center for Conflict transformation and Peace Studies (CECOTAPS) is committed to creating an enabling environment for authentic human development in the Tamale Ecclesiastical Province (TEP) which is co-terminus with the three regions in northern Ghana. CECOTAPS is committed to building local capacity for peace, justice and reconciliation through education and training. They equip and empower local communities to set their peace and development agendas and become leaders of social transformation. CECOTAPS comes with over 22 years of conflict prevention and peacebuilding practice.

COGINTA is a non-governmental, apolitical, non-religious organization, specialized in judicial and security governance, social cohesion, conflict management and prevention, resilience and community development. COGINTA's objective is to support the government of Ghana in strengthening judicial and security institutions in accordance with the standards and principles of the rule of law, and to improve the effectiveness of police institutions in the prevention of violence, insecurity and crime, in order to promote an environment conducive to peace, development and social cohesion.

To become a member of the Northern Ghana Coalition of Civil Society Organizations for Peace, Security and Development, you must; Be a registered CBO or an NGO working in Northern Ghana Share in our goals and objectives as a coalition for Peace, Security and Development and subscribe to our notions of conflict resolution, reconciliation, and peaceful co-existence?
